WCHC Concludes Year in Style
Funds Granted To Area Hospices at Somerset Collection
The Women's Committee for Hospice Care (WCHC) Annual Meeting and Grants Presentation held at the Somerset Collection South Rotunda was an afternoon for fun, honor, and kudos for the achievements of the 2008-2009 volunteer years.
A total of $312,600 was granted to seven area hospices for the 2008-2009 fiscal year. Hospices who received grants are: Angela Hospice Home Care Inc., Beaumont Hospice, Hospice Of Michigan, Hospices of Henry Ford, Karmanos Cancer Institute Hospice, Mercy Hospice Care, and Visiting Nurses Association of Southeastern Michigan.
The WCHC members and honored guests dined on a light lunch provided by Brio. Chocolates and desserts were compliments of Rocky Mountain Chocolates. The desserts were creatively wrapped to also serve as centerpieces.
The Somerset Collection graciously hosted the meeting and Max Mara provided delightful gift bags as well as a 15% donation back to WCHC for purchases made that day. The event was a wonderful conclusion to the year and a fantastic way to present the much needed grant money to the hospices.
"WCHC is so grateful for the continued support from our generous donators. We are in awe of The Somerset Collection's continued support towards our cause. The volunteers within our organization enjoyed this wonderful day and it was a nice reward for all of their efforts throughout the year." Stated Julie Beals, President of WCHC.
