A Grand Night Was Had By All at Hospice Ball 2010

Birmingham, Mi. - Women's Committee For Hospice Care, Inc. celebrated its twenty second year of raising awareness and funds for hospice care with their annual black tie extravaganza on January 23, 2010,at the beautiful Ritz Carlton, Dearborn. It REALLY was "A Grand Night Like No Other". The Grand Ballroom was filled with 350 guests and approximately $120,000.00 was raised for area hospices. Even the snow, which has been a "constant companion" in the past, held off .

Benefit Co-Chairs Mikki Gardner-Mood and Tracey Baldwin planned an exceptional evening with dancing to the Jerry Fenby Band, fabulous cuisine and service, a la Ritz, and an auction and raffle featuring Ralph Lauren, Chanel( Neiman Marcus) David Yurman,( Saks Fifth Avenue) Louis Vuitton, Montblanc, Burberry and Capital Grille (Somerset Collection) The Forest Grill Chef's Table, American Idol tickets, Tony Awards, Townsend Hotel with Tchaikovsky Ballet tickets, WCHC Wine Collection, Pistons Suite, Bose Wave Music System, Ralph Lauren Shopping Spree and many more wonderful items were featured in the Live Auction with Auctioneer, Scott Swenson. Approximately $70,000.00 was raised.

Honorary Chairs were Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Butkovich, Mr. Moti Goldring, Mr. Jared Rapp, Ms. Linda McIntosh, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Mira, and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Raymond.

WCHC President, Julie Beals, said in a communication to the Ball Chairs and entire Committee, "On behalf of WCHC, I would like to extend a fabulous and whole hearted congratulations to Mikki, Tracey and their entire committee for a wonderful ball! Everything was better than perfect!"

The evening continued on at "Club Dragon Bleu", which was generously underwritten by Dragon Bleu Vodka and Moti Goldberg and Jared Rapp. Wonderful martinis and a fabulous DJ made it a sparkling night to remember.

The Women's Committee for Hospice Care, Inc. (WCHC), founded in 1986, is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization which raises and grants funds to nonprofit hospices in Macomb, Oakland and Wayne counties of southeastern Michigan.

All funding goes toward uninsured and under-insured services including pain management, indigent care, pediatric programs, bereavement services, and respite care. To date, WCHC has disbursed over $6.5 million to area hospices.
