WOMEN'S COMMITTEE FOR HOSPICE CARE, INC. IS RECIPIENT OF COMPANY'S GOODWILL
Delphi Corporation Raises Over $20,000 To Benefit Hospice Care

June 2008, Troy, Mich. - Delphi Corporation employees raised $20,309.41 and counting for Women's Committee For Hospice Care, Inc. (WCHC) during a World Headquarters Campus fundraiser as part of their Excellence Week initiative.

Excellence Week is a global Delphi activity, in which each campus holds their own unique events to reaffirm their commitment to Delphi's guiding principles: the Absolutes of Excellence. Employees at the Troy World Headquarters select a charity for the focus of their fundraising efforts. This year WCHC was selected for this special honor.

Throughout the week, Delphi employees, divided into teams, raised funds through bake sales, golfing events, selling crafts, a wall of memory roses, and more. The week concluded with a dunk tank, special walk, and a check presentation to the WCHC by the top-fundraising team-Internal Audit/Accounting. Delphi employees also collected boxes of games, blankets, stuffed animals, and personal items like blankets to take to the areas hospices. Employees and their children also decorated memory books and note-cards to take.

Many found a personal connection to hospice care, as the Delphi teams rose to the challenge to raise money for this important cause and found awareness as well.

"I had no idea what hospice care was until I experienced it first hand during the summer of 2006, when my wife of 40 years, Maggie, was diagnosed with incurable brain cancer. The hospice care givers not only attended to her medical needs, but also made sure she was completely comfortable and free of pain at all times. Perhaps equally important, they were expert at providing counseling and spiritual guidance to me and to our three sons as we tried to cope with Maggie's last days. While I certainly do not wish for anyone the kind of situation that requires hospice care, it is very comforting to know it's there if needed," said Steve Miller, Delphi Executive Chairman.

This charitable donation was a wonderful gift for WCHC and truly motivational to see how involved the employees become with the fundraising process.

"Having hundreds of employees at an automotive supplier work so hard for hospice care in our current economy is truly an unexpected blessing. The whole environment at Delphi is so positive and pro-active. We are so very thankful," commented Connie McEwan, outgoing WCHC president.
